Back in May I suffered a minor shin splints injury from running and have since been training to get back in a state where I could run again. During the last couple of weeks I’ve been swimming a lot, which was great and might consider taking up again. But running again beats it hands down.
I really hope this time that I’ll be able to run injury free for more than a couple of months.

I’ve finally gotten around to watching the second and final season of HBO’s Carniv?le.
While the first season was superb the second season really lost most of its momentum half-way through. The main storyline continued in a decent pace, but all of the sub-plots just got detached and ended up having almost nothing to do with the rest of the main story arc. Most, if not all, of the sub-plots had the feeling that they were being include in order to fill the 50 min. timeslot that the shows on HBO lasts.
If HBO canceled the show based on how season two was developing I seriously can?t blame them. The production value was always top-notch but the helps little if the story is slowing getting derailed.
And since the show is now canceled we might never get answers to all the lose ends the second season ended with. There are just too many unanswered questions remaining for me to recommend the series to anyone. It is as if Peter Jackson stopped short of Return of the King. You know where the story more or less is heading but not enough to get dramaturgical closure. And that is truly sad.
For that reason and that reason alone I simply cannot recommended the series. I had genially hoped otherwise based on the very strong first season, but the story is unfinished that watching 24 one hour episodes simply leaves a great empty void no matter how great the acting and the production is.

This is the new trailer for Bioware‘s upcoming sci-fi RPG Mass Effect. The game has always looked amazing but this new trailer is mind blowing. The game is set for release in November 2007. Can’t wait to play it.

I have just stumbled upon this ?ber-cool Australian band called The Cat Empire. They bring more energy and humor to the music scene than anything I’ve listen to in years. Highly recommended. Just listen to the lyrics of one of their songs called The Car Song.
Louis Clichy’s freewheeling A quoi ?a sert l’amour. Produced when Clichy was with Cube Creative, a Paris-based animation studio, A quoi ?a sert l’amour gives us a young couple going through the pitfalls and wonders of love ? meet up, break up, make up, anger, hurt, and joy ? all in the space of two and a half marvelously propulsive minutes. The short caught the attention of Pixar, who hired Clichy as a 3-D animator; his first job at the studio was working on the Paris-set Ratatouille #
Beautiful and simple animation by one of the animators of Pixar‘s Ratatouille.
Here in Denmark we have to wait until October 5th before the movie opens. What part of “I want to see Ratatouille NOW!” didn’t you understand?
