Crisis

First act is done, but I’m having some serious blues.
But that was expected I guess. I’m just having doubts about the greatness of my story.

Without having any experience in these matters, I think the best thing to do is to plow right on through. I had sincere doubts about mine from the very beginning; but the sensation changes with every keypress. Then I feel confident, then I feel down, then I fear the depression that will come from understanding that I suck, then I fear not having the Academy Award speech ready on time…

Hollow words of comfort, probably, but nonetheless…

Besides, the second act is where you get to use what you’ve built in the first act :)

    How are you fairing btw?

I had the same experience from the first screenplay I wrote (yep I’m so much a veteran): http://www.blackwood.dk/2008/01/18/fade-out/

And the thing to do then was just what you wrote, just plow through it :)

Well, I’m doing alright everything considered. I did a 180 the weekend before we started, so I’ve got only the vaguest of outlines to run by, but so far my characters are pretty chatty, and that’s raking in some pages :)

I’m about half-way through the first act, though I think it’ll come easily; I’ve just been busy doing too much other stuff as well :)
