Father of two kids. Husband of one wife. Project manager at a strategic design agency at day. Amateur writer at night.

Gone for good?

And like that he was gone. Underground. Nobody has ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. #

I’ve said it before and now I’m gonna say it again; my work here is done.

Last time I said that I not gonna write any more on this weblog at all. I’m not gonna be so absolute in this time around. Just don’t expect any new posts anytime soon. All the smaller updates will be on my Tumblr page.

My new job at 1508 is not just great. It’s superb. So far it might very well be the best job I’ve ever had. Really nice colleagues, great projects, superb office, and just a heck of fun time.

I’ve been thinking about restarting with an entirely new weblog focused solely on screenwriting (a la the Story Tricks series). That might or might not happen anytime soon, but don’t keep your breath, because as the time is right now I’ve rather spend time with my wife and son and actually write screenplays and write about them. And there are only so many hours a day, so I have to prioritize.

And if any of you are up to it, I’m gonna participate in the Script Frenzy again this year. Feel free to add me as a writing partner. Although I’m gonna “cheat” a little this year, by writing a complete rewrite of my script from last year. The story structure is more or less unchanged, but the story itself is getting a major overhaul.

Script Frenzy 2008 winner

And don’t forget that you can track my movie watching adventures on the Movies page.

I’ve finally found a way to get a Life Stream on this weblog.

Updated: Works like crap… offline again…

After years of having a totally dysfunctional installation of WordPress running on this site I’ve opted to do a complete re-installation.

What this means for you;

  • Properly nothing
  • … but you might experience dead links and scrambled characters in some of the (older) posts
  • … and lots weird errors all over the place
  • The weblog is now located in the root (www.blackwood.dk) and not in /weblog/. So update your bookmarks
  • The feed might be fucked up but I hope that Feedburner might help with that. That’s a lot of “might’s”

For some reason all the tags now have numbers and not names which makes a tag cloud super useful (not).

My work here is done…

I’ve been blogging on this weblog for 7 years. I guess that in internet years that’s well over 100 years. That’s a long time… a very long time. Most people hadn’t even heard of weblogs when I started out and now everyone and their grandmother has one (which is a good thing).

A lot of things have happened for me in the past 7 years. And most of it I’ve blogged about. I’ve become married to my wonderful girlfriend and she has given me the greatest gift of life a beautiful, smart and loving son. I’ve taken three different educations, and I’ve just landed a dream job which I’m looking very much forward to. I’ve had my 15 kb of internet fame and at one time had around 100 returning visitors to this site. I’ve meet some really cool people online as a direct result of this weblog and have had the distinguish pleasure of meeting some of them in real life as well. I truly feel that I’ve been part of some unique and grandeur.

But now I fell that it is time to move on. I’ll still very much be online, I, now as always, believe that the internet is the single greatest human achievement in modern time and I still very much want to be a part of that, but I fell that my blogging times are over and the “urge to blog”-energy that used to flow in my veins is no longer there.

This weblog will remain “open” and it will still be possible to comment on all the post and I still answer them as always, there will just not be any new ones.

This post turned out much mellower than I intended. Blogging has for me always been fun and still is, it’s just that I currently don’t have to time or the incentive to post and when that happens it’s better to stop entirely and simply to shuffle along (as this blog as been doing for some time).

I might return to blogging sometime in the future, then again I might not. I really feel that this is a done chapter for me. So until next time… Here’s looking at you, kid.

Update:

I now have a tumblr site that I try to keep a decent flow to. Really couldn’t leave this alone anyway. How about that.
